Blue Houses

Nestled in a lovely tree lined neighborhood down the street, around the bend, and up a block or two lives a person listed on the Sexual Offender’s Registry. Something unexplained used to compel me to drive past the house at least once a month. During those drive by’s I never noticed any activity in the residence -- not even the twinkling of a TV behind the none descript curtains. It felt very ominous.

The blue house is on the former route of my daily walks. The community is nice, family style with children’s laughter and too many toys littering the small yards. I loved that route. Each house does not look exactly like the one next to it, trees as big as the sky – and did I mention, laughing kids?

I wonder if the neighbors know what’s living near them.
